About Me

Another (almost) living being on planet Earth!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to learn more about this world, to open my mind, to understand- and appreciate- human differences and commonalities. I want to force myself out of my comfort zone and indulge in experiences with people other than myself, for the better and the worse.

A world with closed borders, closed minds, and most importantly, closed hearts is not worth living in!

Interests

I recently moved to Minneapolis, so I’b be happy to do some exploring if you’re up for it. The nature here is stunning - hikes and walks by the lake are some of the best ways to enjoy it. Still figuring out what to do during winter.

I love Cafes; I honestly would have lived in one if I could. It’s not just the coffee, but the atmosphere and seeing people.

I’m failing at indoor gardening and keeping my plants alive and well, so I would truly appreciate any unsolicited advice 😂

Oh, and my place has a movie room we can book. We can watch something we both enjoy (please not a Marvel movie 😭)

Music, Movies, and Books

I’m currently diving into The Dawn of Everything by David Graeber and The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin. Both explore alternative ways of imagining our world, questioning societal norms and systems. I’m also passionate about books on resistance movements and collective struggle, such as A Philosophy of Violence, Antifa, and writings on the Zapatista movement.

When it comes to music, I’m pretty eclectic—I enjoy exploring different genres. That said, rock has always been a constant in my playlists.

For films, I have a soft spot for old black-and-white classics and international cinema. I’m drawn to Italian, French, Eastern European, Persian, and Asian films—basically, anything that leaves a lingering taste and something to reflect on long after the credits roll.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Paint political street art!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you how to cook some super tasty Yemeni food! I love swapping stories and hearing about other people’s adventures. And I’m always up for learning new things—like dancing (or honestly, anything else you’re into).

Countries I’ve Visited

Egypt, France, Italy, Malaysia, Spain
