Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

Travel as much as possible ... when possible

ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm Milena and I was born in Nicaragua, raised in Canada and now I live in rural northwestern Illinois, but I'm hoping to find my new home in the southern states.

I'm hoping to find hosts that will hopefully make time to talk about what they enjoy in their cities/area. So if you got a place, I'd be so grateful. I'm very tidy, easy going, and travel light. I welcome any and all advice and tips like where to go first, fun things to do, where to eat ...

PHILOSOPHY

While researching a past trip to Belize trip I came across a quote:
"Take lots of pictures, leave lots of bubbles" - I think it's hilarious! :-)
For now, this is what I think of when someone brings up life philosophy, because we just can't take ourselves too seriously :-)

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

I became aware of CouchSurfing through a friend of ours and had my first surfing experience with Angel in Oak Park (Chicago Suburb) and he couldn't have been a better host. Although I have yet to host someone in my rural Midwest home, I haven't lost hope yet that someday someone awesome will want us to host them and hear all their fantastic travel stories!

Interessi

I personally love to read, cook, and travel to anywhere that is warm and sunny, preferably with some warm water beaches :-)

  • vegan
  • traveling
  • hiking
  • wanderlust
  • off grid living

Musica, film e libri

I like to laugh so I watch comedy movies like "Ted." I also enjoy reading books like "The Alchemist," because that's just the sort of book that makes you feel good about life and about yourself.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I am a survivor of war time and a conventional refugee, I'm very grateful to Canada for giving my family a chance to have a great life.

In terms of travel, I'm hoping to fill in more blanks through surfing various couches around the world in the next decade.

Insegna, impara, condividi

I'm a very honest and loving person that likes hanging out and getting to know people, because every person has something great about them - it's the spice of life!

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

Normally, lots of fruits and veggies, because that's my fast food ;-) along with good conversation and a wealth of useless knowledge that tends to go to waste just sitting there in my head.

Paesi che ho visitato

Belize, Colombia, Guatemala, Mexico

Paesi in cui ho vissuto
