CURRENT MISSION
omnipresence.
ABOUT ME
I got laid off from my copy editing job in Austin and hopped in the car with two of my nearest and dearest girlfriends for a traipse around the country. We visited beautiful New Mexico where the sunsets are like sex in the sky and the people of Jamez Springs are kind. We drove through Colorado, through cutesy, tourist-y towns with trinkets that we couldn't afford and snuck off to an abandoned train track bridge to take pictures. We stopped in Utah, at the great salt flats, and licked the ground to savor it all. A quick bounce through Nevada, took a very long pause in Oregon, traveled back and forth a bit more, and another long pause in Portland, and the general PacNW region.
And now the tour has begun again! Kentucky, Michigan, Texas, Colorado and California included! (And probably a few more in between.)
PHILOSOPHY
Personal philosophy? Seems much too deep for an online profile. Can't we get to know each other and talk about it over a brew at the local dive or a cup of tea in your basement?
Well, I'll say a few things:
Love.
And sometimes more here-now than others. But mostly love.
And I don't smoke cigarettes and I'm vegetarian. But I still love cigarette-smoking omnivores! (Have a drag for me, please.)
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Though I've had a couchsurfing account for ages and ages, I've never actually made use of it. I'm hoping to utilize this wonderful social network to meet new, interesting people who (hopefully) have a couch for me to surf on for a night or two.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Oh, man. Everything. I have a new appreciation for how beautiful and diverse the US is. Here are a few things that really stuck out:
salt flats! So salty. So flat. So beautiful.
redwoods! How could they not? Seriously.
Lebanese cedars! But that was more than 10 years ago and though I do remember, the memories are perhaps not as crisp as they once were.
connecticut! Because I fell in love with the whole state, and with most of New England. True story.
vegas! Loud. Big. Big. Bright. Parties! Debauchery. Entertainment. And more!
hawai'i! Fun and nice, but I can't lie and say that I wasn't kinda disappointed. Too much Oahu, not enough ANY other island.
lake huron! It's lovely, really.

I love my friends and my family. I'm fortunate that my family are also part of my friends.
Be passionate; be intense. About something.
I think that people are in general too reserved about love and kindness. There are not any strings attached. Lighten up. It is what it is. Please appreciate it.
I'm super big on reciprocity. (That's kinda an old running joke. But it's true. I am.)
It is usually a poor idea to judge a book by its cover. (But I cannot say that I am not guilty of that. I try!)
I worry vaguely about money, but happily spend it to spoil my friends.
I really like going out for beers with friends to a not-super-busy and bumpbumpbumping club. That's cozy.
I have learned that being accepting does not necessarily mean that I have to tolerate your bullshit or be meek when I see something worth speaking out about.
I wonder where our sense of morality comes from.
And cupcakes! ing.
