About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Biking to Big Sur, insane? Yup. Adventure of a lifetime? You bet.

ABOUT ME

I am 21, going through a bit of a personal discovery. I've spent a lot of my life doing something that kept me tethered to my responsibilities, and I have cut the cords, and it's time to learn from the great book of life.

I am always up for an adventure, and spontaneity is kinda my thing, also, laughter is the best medicine, so don't be afraid to take yourself a little less seriously.

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to find out what is over the horizon. I am constantly amazed by the beauty that surrounds me, both the natural and the human. I just want to live every day surrounded by things that make my heart beat faster, and hopefully leave everything a little better than when I found it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I unfortunately live in a tiny bachelor apartment with a couch not even a smurf could get comfortable on, but my bestfriends down the road host, and I have stopped by to interact with the surfers, some amazing people I must say!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Having a beer on a summertime patio with two surfers from the Netherlands. Their stories were excellent, their humor rib cracking, and enthusiasm for sharing a pitcher kept the night going well beyond its bed time. They inspired me to get on the open road, and I hope for many a night like we shared. Whether my host's wish to spend a night swapping tales, or just provide me with a place to lay my head, I hope to be able to offer something in return, be it good coffee, good beer, good food, good conversations (i've been told my stories are something of a head shaker) or a small token of appreciation, one must give as much as they take to keep this whole thing spinning.

When I land in Victoria this fall I sure hope to have a couch to open up to this great community, time will tell.

Interests

There isn't much that doesn't interest me. I love learning about things I know nothing of.
I live in natures playground and consequently love the outdoors, but nights curled up with a good book are necessary.
I like cooking, creating, adventuring (surfing, camping, hiking), finding cool new folks and discovering the hidden gems.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Wes Anderson, Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan are my 3 favourite directors.

Music: Timber Timbre, The Paper Kites, Alt J, Grizzly Bear, Born Ruffians, the head and the heart, anything live, anything local, anything from the heart, and especially if we can have a foot stompin good time.

Books: Kerouac, Vonnegut, Frost, Bukowski, Kesey, T. S. Eliot, Shakespeare, Hemingway, anything that makes you think about what the hell you are doing here on this planet.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can't think of just one thing, for I think the best is yet to come, but all the amazing moments in my life have come about when I have endeavoured to interact, and put my trust in the people around me. Often times strangers, they become companions on adventures you never could for-see.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to think I know a thing or two about the english language, trying to make it my craft and all that. I once built a vineyard. I have my own darkroom, and have ridden horses since I was 2 ft tall. I've lived on two continents, and know a thing or two about the british way of life. I was a barista by trade, a farm hand by choice. I love sharing knowledge, I can make a wicked red curry.

I am a student of life, I love to learn, and I mean anything. Knowledge is power, and be it learning to knit, or learning to sail, or learning to navigate a foreign town, I live and breathe it all, anything you wish to teach me I am grateful to learn.
