ABOUT ME

Scot living in London. Since the Brexit vote I've made it my personal challenge to have seen every country in the EU before we leave and to say 'let's stay friends'! I don't want to break up!

I have an overwhelming need to be productive, whether that be through working or through doing absolutely nothing but being happy. I lived in Vigo, Spain for nine months which unleashed my frustration with doing nothing - since then I've visited some countries, attempted university, entertained foreigners in my hometown, had a spell of living the corporate dream (hah), entertained more foreigners, visited more countries, university: round 2, and am now working in the public sector.

If you don't like food I'm going to be a little suspicious.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used CS to get in touch with people when I was living in Vigo and I went to a few of the CS meetings. I then used it to surf in the states and found that the immersion with 'natives' was a great contrast to the international experience of hostels. Hopefully I'll eventually find some flatmates who'll let me host strangers as well as friends :)

Other than that I've met up with a few people in Spain and gone to a couple of the local CS Monthly Meetings as well as crashing on Chris' couch in boiling Philly. Plenty friends from all over the world have also had the privilege of sleeping on my floor! I've only ever had really positive experiences and I've met some really cool people.

Music - I have a decades-old obsession with The Strokes and I'm willing to give anything a go. Beach Boys, Hanson, Velvet Underground.

Movies - will give anything a shot really. My knowledge ranges from independent cinema to knowing word-for-word Ten Things I Hate About You.

Books - again I'll try anything, from crime novels to factual stuff and classic literature. Aim to read at least 30 a year.
