ABOUT ME

I'm a 27 year old woman, married to the love of my life, and mother of two cute little boys. I'm not sure how to describe myself right now, because I'm in flux, changing, reinventing who I am and figuring out what I want from life. Challenging the way things are, and trying to grasp at happiness.

PHILOSOPHY

Right now the only thing that comes to mind is a line from a poem I had to memorize for french class almost 15 years ago.
"Sous le pont Mirabeau coule la Seine
Et nos amours
Faut-il qu'il m'en souvienne
La joie venait toujours après la peine."

Which translates roughly to that life sucks and is painful, but after the pain comes the joy. I'm trying to get past the pain, and find the joy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We had some couch surfers over for a BBQ once. I've sent a million couch-surf requests on behalf of my husband while he's been traveling for an internship.

We've also hosted quite a few people and had fun showing them Boston! A couple from Brasil, a couple from Germany, a girl from Canada making her first trip to the US (that was especially fun!), and many others. It is always fun to talk about the differences in where we live, and find common ground!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have none, but my husband has stayed with a few people in the Boston area.

Interests

Foremost my biggest interest is design and crafting. I'm half-way through a degree in Graphic design, and enjoy creating things. I scrapbook, and love to document and take pictures. I also love to plan, I am a planner. I obsess over planning, and am hardly ever spontaneous. I go from zero to obsessively researching in two seconds flat. I'm also interested in traveling, but have been unable to do much traveling, unless two trips to Disneyland and one to Disneyworld count... I guess Disney is an interest too. I can often be found singing Disney songs at the top of my lungs.

Music, Movies, and Books

My two favorite movies are Return to Me, and Frequency, but i'm also a big Disney movie fan.
Music... I love Goo Goo Dolls, The Script, The Calling, Matt Nathanson, and Plain White T's right now. It varies by my mood though.
I used to love to read, but with two kids I don't find much time to read anymore. One of my favorite books is Worthing Saga by Orson Scott Card. I'm currently reading a book called the Bloodletter's Daughter, which is interesting.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wish I had something exciting to put here, but my life is pretty boring. The most amazing thing I've ever done in my life is Marry my Husband, twice. I'd do it a million times.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not a very good teacher, just ask my six year old. But i fancy myself a fairly good cook and wouldn't mind teaching someone how to prepare a vegetarian or vegan meal.
