About Me

Hey everyone, I'm a professional chef turned student teacher (home economics).

I love animals and children and also happy to help out cooking dinners, walking dogs and even changing nappies (or diapers - whatever they are called in your part of the world).

I am a huge fan of our world and massively into exploring it so I love meeting natives of where ever I find myself so I can really fully involve myself in places and the people there.

I have family from all over the world and I suppose hearing stories from them also interested me as a child and made me want to see their parts of the world. My mum used to be an airbnb host and I usually helped out the guests finding their way around Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as hearing their awesome stories from their parts of the world - this just pushed me more and more into wandering our fair world!

As I've mentioned I am massively into my food and really love cooking for people and getting ideas and feedback, I have a not-so-secret love for chocolate and also try to seek out different chocolatiers and factories around the world and normally have chocolate in my bag - always happy to share it too!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am using this site because I want to met genuine people and learn about their cultures - also find out when all the best and under rated eateries are in your part of the world!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Not sure about amazing but it makes for a good story - I once dropped a rather large cacti on my leg and still have a couple of the needles embedded in the muscle of my thigh.

I've also chopped my hair off for charity twice - it is genuinely my most prized possession so doing it actually made me cry, however I am very proud to have done it for a good cause!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am training to be a home economics teacher (possibly known as food tech or hospitality teacher in other parts of the world) so I am also happy to teach a bit of cookery where ever I go - especially Scottish Cuisine as I enjoy showing people that we live off other things, not just haggis!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my cooking skills from all over the world but also from Scotland, happy to share it with my hosts!
