About Me

Keen traveller from Scotland, I love 🐶🍽🥂 meeting fellow travellers and learning from people across the world.

I studied International Relations and Modern History in a small seaside town with a large international community, which is part of the reason why I started travelling. Living in Paris opened me up to couchsurfing and I really enjoyed meeting people from all over the world and exploring the city with them. Having participated in workaway exchanges in Norway and volunteered in France, I love to travel and meet new people, as well as baking, learning languages, reading and being outside. I always treat people's home with respect and would love to stay with people on my travels to make my experience even more exciting and interesting. I currently can't accept guests but would be happy to give advice on travelling around Scotland.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

II've always found that staying with locals makes a trip much more enjoyable anyway. I I spent a month working in Paris over the summer and used my days off to explore the city with couchsurfers; it was a great way to meet new people and have some fun in an exciting city. I love meeting new people from a variety of backgrounds different to my own, and have been firmly bitten by the travel bug since starting University. I have travelled solo to Italy, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, USA, France ,Luxembourg ,Germany, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Greece, Austria, Slovakia and Bulgaria. I try to say yes to as much as I can in life to make give myself more spontaenity and interesting experiences- which is part of the reason I'm on couchsurfing!

Interests

Learning languages, cooking, spending too much time (and money) in cafes, being in nature, exploring new places.
I'm also obsessed with dogs and will like you 100% more if you share my obsession/have one yourself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Almost any music.
Movies and TV- Les Intouchables, Fauda, Homeland
Books- All the Light We Cannot See

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teaching Yazidi refugees.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about life in Scotland, English/French, and would generally like to meet fellow travellers and share our stories. I love cooking and baking and would be happy to teach you what I know/make you some dishes to leave behind. I would like to learn any language I can and your story in general: what it is like to live in your town, culture etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm polite, clean, quiet and will not be of any burden! I like to discover the area and visit museums, go out etc, it would be lovely to do this with a host/locals but if not I won't be of any disturbance. As I am travelling alone, I am quite adventurous but also quite shy- I promise to treat your home with respect and keep it in good condition.
As above, I would be happy to share my cooking/English skills with you in exchange for a place to stay!
