Hello, I'm Holly and I am in my final year of studying History of Art and Architectural History at Edinburgh University. I love what I study as I'm passionate about art and culture and could discuss it for hours!

I grew up in the countryside, in an old farm house, before moving to Edinburgh and I spent a year studying in Paris on my year abroad, which was an amazing experience. I am now fluent in French and have a weakness for red wine and strong cheese.

I am a confident, outgoing and optimistic person and I love meeting new people from all walks of life. I love travelling and experiencing different cultures, whether at home or abroad!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I want to be a part of a community whose members welcome each other into their homes with a view to making friends, not money. We can learn so much from one another. By going out into the world and seeking interaction with similarly optimistic individuals, we spread good will and enrich the lives of those we meet, as well as our own.

Interests

I'm interested in art and historic architecture (in the future I hope to work in historic building conservation). I also love to sing and play the guitar. Having grown up in the countryside, I have always enjoyed outdoors activities, such as hiking, camping and swimming in the sea. But equally, I love nothing more than curling up with a good book and a cup of tea.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After leaving school when I was eighteen I traveled in India, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Viet Nam and Myanmar for a period of six months.
