Overview
About Me
I'm 2/3 of the way through an English with creative writing degree so naturally I write and read a lot. It's what I love to do! I study in Falmouth which is a beautiful and alternative seaside town in Cornwall. As its so stunning here, I spend a lot of time outdoors. I walk/hike every weekend, usually along the coastal paths but I've been branching out into the woodland areas too. I like to think I'm a pretty friendly person, definitely approachable as I seem to have strangers tell me their life stories regularly. Not that I mind, connection is what makes the world go round after all. I love meeting new people and going on adventures so couch surfing sounds like the perfect set up for me. I'm 26 so I still drink but my life doesn't revolve around it. I'm very respectful also and tidy, so I won't be messing up your home.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I want to meet people when I travel.
Interests
Music! I appreciate all good music, it's not genre specific. I am very into blues, soul, HipHop and reggae though..
I run and walk a lot so those are definite hobbies. I also write a lot of short stories and the occasional bit of spoken word.
I love to dance!!! It's probably my favourite thing in the world, alongside good coffee, laughing and friends.
Music, Movies, and Books
I've already stated some of the genres I like music wise. I suppose if I had to list artists I would pick Erika Badoo, Bonobo, The Rolling Stones, James Brown, Little Dragon, Souls of Mischief and Muddy Waters.
Films I love, rubbish at remembering names though. Amelie is a lovely film. I enjoy anything which makes me think or feel good.
I love books, too many to list. My favourite author at the moment is Ruth Ozeki. I also love Orwell, Murakami and David Sedaris
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last month I taught English to a group of teenagers in Budapest. That was pretty amazing, I made some life long friends in the teachers and really enjoyed watching the young people's confidence grow over the space of the week. The games were also incredibly fun. I love being part of a group who are working towards something.
Teach, Learn, Share
A quote from Madeline L'Engle (A circle of quiet) 'A self is not something static, tied up in a pretty parcel and handed to the child, finished and complete. A self is always becoming.'
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good conversation. Banta (having a laugh/joke), dancing skills, enthusiasm and stories.
Countries I’ve Visited
France, Guernsey, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Thailand, Tunisia, United Kingdom, United States, Wales
