About Me

About me: I grew up in Southern California and have fallen in love with Traveling. My introduction into a life of Wonderlust began in high school when my senior class decided to do a mission trip in Peru. I loved it! Two years later I worked at Cradle of Love orphanage in Arusha, Tanzania and was able to visit Kenya and the Netherlands! After that I lived in Italy for a year and traveled through Couch Surfing and hostels to Germany, Ireland, Scotland, England, Greece, and Spain.

I love meeting new people, learning about different cultures, picking up some of the languages, and I especially enjoy eating the food! If you feed me, you're family! Also, you'll learn that I'm full of sarcasm :)

Kindness is my religion. I'm all about great experiences, positive energy and spreading the love! I hope that in meeting me, you enjoy your time, gain some insight and perspective in your own life, learn something new and walk away smiling.

I plan on doing much more traveling soon!

Sooooo, if you'd like to host, I'll know you've read everything in my profile if you call me by my nickname when you send me a message. My nickname is Di ☀️ Ciao!

🚨If you message me, please tell me one thing we have in common or something you like about my profile (other than my picture) so I know you actually read my information. Talk to you soon! 😁🚨

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Although there are some things missing from my profile as far as who I've couchsurfed with, I've had nothing but amazing experiences. I absolutely love the people that invited me to stay with them. I'm actually went to a wedding in Italy last July - A beautiful young woman who hosted me in Scotland quite a few years ago (2010). You make amazing connections through CS!

Interests

I'm an eclectic person.

I truly think I'm interested in everything. I love music and can enjoy pretty much any genre. My favorite is probably R&B (new and old) and conscious rap. I am slowly but surely learning how to play the piano...slowly.

I enjoy fitness (I'm a trainer), I like hiking, playing sports, shooting, and archery.

My style and fashion change often; I like to try different things and switch it up constantly. My style is always colorful and loud, like my personality.

I love new experiences - I'm pretty much down for anything. I hope to go skydiving this year!

I love to dance, sing, play video games and so on. Just everything. I do like to partake in a little TurnUp here and there :D

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies (comedy, action/adventure, suspense, horror, some chick flics and everything else!) and music (r&b, hip-hop, radio jams, and everything else). When I get the chance I love to read poetry (Maya Angelou) and factual information (I'm not a huge fiction person but I'm down for good suggestions). I've challenged myself to read at least 20 books this year for fun :) I've been reading a lot on meditation and Buddhism lately.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've taken care of beautiful children in an orphanage in Africa, walked through and down a huge jungle in Peru to find an AMAZING and breathtaking waterfall at the bottom!

Upon arrival alone in Dublin, Ireland, and on my way to my hostel, I mentioned that I'd never had a snowball fight to my taxi driver. He pulls over and says, "well let's go then," and runs out of the car. I look around and say, "why the hell not?" I run out and grab as much snow as I can. One of my favorite experiences :)

I was in the middle of a riot in Greece, and got my friends out safe while being tear-gassed...yeah, it burned a little.

There's so much more but I'll save those for the stories I'll tell when I visit! :D
