ABOUT ME

A list of different things and aspects of life I enjoy:

I love maps, winter swimming, my tandem bikes, hitchhiking, islands, climbing in trees, forests, good ice cream, stamps, hanging out in my shelter, being on my own, cooking, read magazines backwards, silence, walking the streets in the middle of the night, write letters - and all sorts of cards and packages suited for the purpose, sleeping outside, studying food and packages in supermarkets, eating, riding a bicycle, doing dishes, saunas and dancing anywhere & anytime

PHILOSOPHY

I believe (a little) dirt in my food now and then only strentghens my immun system!

Few people are as interesting in person as they are on pictures and screens - incl. me

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't been as active at hosting as I've been at surfing, but I make up for it by being an excellent guest (I'm a damn good cook) and one day I dream about hosting more people in my wooden shelter in Samsø. Only one Italian so far made it there...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Always good, funky, enriching, surprising and at times incredibly odd too! Haven't surfed in years though, so look forward to get back on that lovely unpredictable track again soon...

I always try to encourage people to spend some time on creating a handwritten letter. I will be a volunteer at the Snail Mail My Email event in San Francisco this upcoming November...

I have become quite hooked on dancing, especially morning parties where people are just high on life, free movement and no alcohol. Also the "No Lycra, No Lights" dancing events are favorites of mine.

I am also quite excited about rejections, as in any kind of rejection we experience in life. They are all around us and we aren't good at dealing with them, that is fascinating.

I also have a liking of job application processes and interviews.

I enjoy getting to know people or discuss important matters of life over a big pile of dishes.

Favourite books? I've had a thing for old cook books and some years ago I created the blog oldcookbookporn on Tumblr, but that is dead.
In general I enjoy books from the 50's - the 90's about food, gender roles, parenting, travels, health, exercise, railways, science etc.. Books that teach me something about the past = reflections about the present = I become smarter.

I am not a movie or TV person, since I am not too good with fast moving images. I like to read reviews and information about movies or television shows.
Last year I watched the Polish movie "Ida" which I liked because it was slow with simple images.

Music: Everything that the incredible Danish DJ Master Fatman likes and plays.

For several days I observed my - now dead RIP - cat while he was trying to ignore the fact that a Christmas decoration - which he had eaten two days earlier - was pushing it's way out of his ass.
