ABOUT ME

I'm originally from Canada and moved to the United States in search of warmer weather and more sun. I have an open mind and heart. I like meeting new people and having good conversations. I enjoy being active and having fun.

I work in finance for a Fortune 500 technology company, and I really enjoy what I do.

PHILOSOPHY

I live by the golden rule - treat others as I would like to be treated. I like to see the good in everyone and appreciate unique differences.There are more things that bring us together in this world than drive us apart.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed and hosted now. They're both fun! I can also meet up for dinner/drinks or provide recommendations on things to do in the Phoenix area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a few times, met several surfers for drinks, and my Brazilian CS host recently came to stay with me. It was great to show him my city after visiting his.
I also surfed for 3 days in Sao Paulo and met up with couch surfers several times in Mexico City and Brazil. Then I surfed in Costa Rica with some people I met in Mexico.... the way the connections grow is incredible! Everyone has been really nice and a lot of fun. It's so much better spending time in a city with locals who can help you have a great time, especially if there are language difficulties.

兴趣

I love to dance, go to the beach, yoga, hike, bike and do martial arts. I have a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (and practiced while in Brazil!) I also love botanical gardens, city parks, and being around nature. Learning about new people, other languages and cultures. Talking about interesting things. I like mixed martial arts and UFC. Lately I have been learning Spanish and LOVE to practice!

Seeing the sunrise over Machu Picchu was one of the most breathtaking moments of my life. It was really amazing to roll Brazilian jiu jitsu in Brazil at my master's master's dojo (my whole inspiration for traveling in the first place). Also, Iguacu Falls was so beautiful.

I love to practice my French and Spanish, so bonus if you speak either of those. Also love learning about different cultures
