COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

my first couch surfing experience happend when i wasn't even registered on cs. a couple of years ago, when I spent some months abroad in mexico in order to learn spanish I got invited to a couchsurfing party. apart from other travellers, i met numerous friendly and hospitable locals. this was a turning point for my stay in mexico: from that day on I spent the whole time with the people I met at the party, got to know mexico for real and as a side effect learned spanish better than I would have in any language school

Intereses

while most people use to list their hobbies here, I wanna start with something different:
i'd say my deepest interest is socializing. a wise men once told me that one can learn something from any person on this planet, one just has to be open-minded.

apart from that, I'm interested in almost everything that has to do with sports: snowboarding, skiing, tennis, soccer, diving,... you name it :)
another huge interest of mine is poker. i play online quite successfully and even managed to qualify for the one or other live event

Enseña, aprende, comparte

One experience I'd like to share is the time i spent in Kenia in the summer of 2010. During summer break I went to Makindu in order to work there as a HIV/Aids consultant. Not only getting in touch with, but rather living under one roof with people who's world is entirely different from what I was used to in Europe made me realize what really matters in life. Overall, despite of malnutrition, spreading diseases and poverty, people were more welcoming anf friendly and seemed to be happier than most people I met in "developed" countries!
