About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live each moment enjoying friends and community.
ABOUT ME
I love to canoe or raft Alaska rivers and backpacking is a way to enjoy the wild without dealing with a vehicle. I've travelled in 30 counties - in many I spent 2 months. Now, I live in Kachemak Bay Alaska at the end of the Kenai Peninsula where galciers meet the sea. I love being a single woman with grandchildren. Reading is a passion, visiting communities, gardening, movies, dancing, hiking...Now I live in Greenville, SC and go to Alaska for the summers.
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life to experience the joy of nature and relationships with loving friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Encouraging others to travel and giving a place to stay for tenters or RVs while I am in Homer. I encouraged Casey Fenton to come to Alaska and he did! This was in the beginning days of Couch Surfing. Recently I joined the Phoenix Group and went to a picnic - it was terrific!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have sponsored various travellers to come and stay in my camper, cabin or put up a tent in Homer.
Interests
Motorcycling, backpacking and canoeing are also favorites. Anyone that lives a simple lifestyle outside the box excites me. I love to sit over a campfire and share stories or drive to favorite view spots of the bay and look out at the grandeur of glaciel peaks.
Since 2013 I have lived in South Carolina and visit Alaska in the summers...I enjoy being a grandmother...creating community with girlfriends and the Unitarian fellowship here.

Music, Movies, and Books
Any kind of movies except violent ones - I love Pink Floyd - any books on religion or history. My favorite - "Women Who Run with the Wolves" - combines Jungian psychology with environmental concerns. Music makes everything magical.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I circumnavigated the Anapurna Range in Nepal and hiked to the base camp of Everest from two different directions, and also spent 8 weeks canoeing the Alatna and Noatak Rivers in the arctic of Alaska. As part of 3 years of overseas travel I spent time in Europe, Asia (India for 6 months) and Southeast Asia, ending with 4 months in New Zealand. I am a great grandmother and grandmother. I have been married 4 times....and the last gentlemen grew up in Alaska and we met and married in Homer....John Seitz. Now we live a happy retired life in Greenville, SC
Teach, Learn, Share
