About Me

CURRENT MISSION

conquer the world (in my travels)

ABOUT ME

Graduated from my master's studies in 2015 in the University of Amsterdam. Traveling is still an important part of my life as are random encounters with interesting people.
These days I travel with my girlfriend, who graduated with me.
We enjoy reading, a quiet beer in the evening, we do not smoke, and we get along with pets.
Additionally, we both enjoy good food, whether cooking at home or eating out.

PHILOSOPHY

I think life is meant to be enjoyed since I don't believe in an afterlife. I also believe in moral values so each person will have a chance to enjoy his life in his own way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surf when I travel and I try learn as many languages as I possibly can so I'll be able to communicate with everybody on their terms.
Whenever I meet people who ask me about my travels I always inform them about the couchsurfing experience.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed a few Couches in Japan and South Korea. All of them were experiences to remember.
One of my hosts even loaned me money when I was out of cash on a weekend in Aomori, Japan (I owe you big time Chris).
Later on stayed with friends in the UK and Denmark who I met while traveling.

Interests

I love rock climbing and bouldering. I also practice martial arts, Shinkendo and Bojutsu at the moment, but with past experience in Krav Maga, and hoping to start Aikido in the future as well.
Reading (american) comics, and collecting. already have quite a collection. DMZ, Transmetropolitan, Hellblazer, Identity Crisis, and The Goon are all highly recommended. The list is endless though.
I like adventure games and strategy. Monkey Island and all Lucas Arts adventure games are excellent. Can't wait for new ones to come out.
I play the bass guitar, although not as often as I should. Victor Wooten and Mark King among my favourites.
I'm really interested in different cultures and languages and hope to learn as many languages as I can during my lifetime.
