I'm really bad in judging myself so I will go with "a normal guy with a questionable sense of humor". I am really easy going and I rarely take life too seriously.

(as a host) Because it is nice to meet new people once in a while, and even better to help out a fellow traveler.

(as a guest) Because so far I haven't found a better way how to get to know a different culture other than staying and chatting with the locals.
