About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet extraordinary down to earth people while traveling and trying to get the local inside on things to do

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town that is sitting in the middle of a outdoors recreational mecca. I went to school at Oregon State University for my engineering degrees. I also went to school in Denmark at the Danish Technical University for a year. I have traveled to approx. 25+ countries and over 4 continents.

I have friends scattered all over now from traveling and living abroad. These people along with my experience have really change who I am and who I am becoming.

Just a quick note about me but really if you want to know more just write me a message.

PHILOSOPHY

Live simple. Live life to the fullest. Traveling brings out the most raw of human interactions, especially when verbal communication can not be bridged by language.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far I have only couch surfed. After returning from my travels...I have lived in a living room of a friend...the back of my car for a year. Once I get a place so I can host, I will open my home to anyone to stay! UPDATE: I finally have settled and have an apartment....couch is open.

The generosity of others have made me realize how special couch surfing can be.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

UPDATE: Well i have done some couchsurfing now and I guess I am kind of addicted. It is a really amazing way to travel. I have met alot of interesting people and had really good experiences. I have yet to have a "bad" experience. I would rather couch surf where you may have a personal or indepth conversation than to stay in a hostel and meet 6 people and just get to know where they are from....GREAT EXPERIENCES...LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!!!!!!!

Interests

I am interested in people and cultures. And I also like the outdoors and challenging things. I like all the traditional sports American football, football, basketball, baseball, Frisbee....... When I am in my element is fly fishing. When you are out in the woods with no one around you it is very peaceful.

Another passion is working on wooden drift boats. I have a boat myself and I love spending time on it and seeing the outcome.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not much of a reader but when I find something I like it is very nice. I like all movies I am not being to vague here i really do.

As far as music, i guess i lean towards acoustic and rock type genres but I really like all types. Bands that are normally on my playlist include Tom Petty, Red Hot, Dave Matthews Band, Joe Purdy, Slackstring, Eric Clapton, Kings of Leon, Van Morrison, Ray LaMontange,.........
ANYTHING THAT TASTES GOOD TO THE EAR

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Laying in the middle of the Egyptian Desert (White Desert) Watching the stars, then getting rained on, then having a sand storm. Crazy night...

Diving in the Red Sea

Hiking around the local mountain in my home town (Mt. Hood) with my grand father.

My entire visit to Turkey was AMAZING.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach someone the basics of flyfishing (I actually have a fly pole this summer so just ask we can go dink around for a some time), Although I am not much of a pro myself. I would like to think I know the basics. I can cook and bake alright. I could show you how to throw an American football. I can offer my stories of traveling while small, I have a couple. As more things come up I shall add.

I have no specific things I would like to learn because local drinking games or the local hangouts or local hangouts with drinking games!
