About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Starting a family but keeping the free spirit

ABOUT ME

Good sense of humor, creativity, light madness :D

I love travelling, eating, cooking, playing, joking and experiencing new things.
I am open minded, accept people's differency, appreciate different cultures. I would like to learn every language of the world...

In Oct 2011 I followed my "urge" for travelling and living abroad. First I moved to New York, than to Germany. After 3 months in Tahiti and half a year around South East Asia and Indonesia I jumped to New Zealand and spent an amazing half a year travelling around and meeting great people by couchsurfing and hitch-hiking. Then on my way to Europe I had a connecting flight on Sydney airport. Suddenly i felt like canceling my flight and staying in Sydney. I stayed 6 weeks. And in March 2014 I finally arrived to Europe. After 4 months in London I found a nice job in Sri Lanka and it seemed like a long carrier opportunity but after living in Sri Lanka for a month I realized that I left my heart in the UK with a Mexican guy... so I moved back to the UK.

Now I am married to this guy :D
and we decided to move from country to country together. We spent a few months in France, Italy, Mexico and now we are in Hungary.

PHILOSOPHY

Instead of preconceptions I prefer discovering things and make my own opinion.

Some of my favourite quotes:
"You are never given a wish without being given the power to make it true. You may have to work for it, however. "
"Every person, all the events of your life, are there because you have drawn them there. What you choose to do with them is up to you." I fully agree with these sentences of Richard Bach.

I try to collect as many experiences in life as I can: One time when I will be sitting with my grandchildren telling the stories of my life, I will never want to run out of stories. Carpe diem :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because CS changes the way we travel and think and see people. It makes us more open minded, builds trust and feels great to have friends all around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have mostly very positive experiences with CS. I met great people during my travels.
I was hosted by CSers in Miami & New York, several countries in Europe, Australia, Asia & French Polynesia. I hosted people when I lived in New York and in the UK. Participated in several CS events. Tour guided many travellers in Budapest. With some hosts and fellow travelers we are still in touch and hope to keep our friendship even longer.
Couchsurfing is a great idea!
Ah yes, and I met my husband on a CS event :)

Movies: Life of Brian, hungarian classics from 1930-1940, TBBT, HIMYM, Lie to me, Dexter, Sherlock

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I walked on warm lava on the vulcano Etna in Sicily.
I symbolically adopted a Csango kid in Moldva (East of Romania) to finance her studies. (Csangos are a small hungarian folk still speaking a medioeval hungarian.)
I quit my good job and moved to New York cause it seemed like a good idea. And it was!
I tried diving and swam with sharks in the ocean (despite my waterphobie :D )
I was "kidnapped" by an orangutan in the jungle in Sumatra. Was fun... first. Then scaaary :-o But still a good story. For my grandchildren. I mean the future ones.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I Can Share with Hosts
