ABOUT ME
I am a 30year old who has been fortunate enough to have been to some really cool places and had some amazing experiences.
Since 2015 I have returned to Education and am working back in a large Secondary school teaching ICT & Computer Science. I am also studying for a Masters in Education and I am particularly interested in effective assessment, special educational needs and enhancing learning through effective classroom practice.
Up until September 2014, I taught full time in a secondary school for a living. I have since been working for a voluntary organisation (VSO) as a Team Leader for youth education projects in Tanzania.
This experience has been incredible and working with my team I have been able to help build a better education for those in Rungwe District in Tanzania.
Since returning to the UK I have been back into teaching working with various schools in secondary, primary and special education.
In July 2015 I will be taking my little brother https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/sam-hooper (who has Downs Syndrome) on his first "adventure" style holiday, where we will be going to a few places in Eastern USA. I am doing this to celebrate his 18th birthday and I am really looking forward to it.
Some highlights of my life so far have been...
Working for VSO in Tanzania as a Team Leader for a youth education project (more info at www.volunteerics.org)
Working in Ghana
Working in South Korea
Walking the Great Wall of China
Seeing the Taj Mahal
Motorbiking Vietnam
Hitchhiking to Croatia
Trekking to Machu Picchu
Visiting the Iguacu Falls
Seeing Christ the Redeemer
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have now hosted a couchsurfer which was a great experience and really enjoyed being able to share some of my local knowledge with my surfer.
I have also been couchsurfing in Poland and attended socials in Germany, my experiences in these countries reiterated to me how important couchsurfing is and how great it is.
I first couchsurfed in Rio de Janeiro and it was a brilliant experience. My host truly hooked me up with all the best information and sights there are. I really enjoyed my couch surfing experience and hope that there are many more to come.
