HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I knew about CS many years ago and had my first CS experience in South Korea in 2012.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First time in South Korea and found that it is a fun way of travelling! Then I continued when I was travelling to other countries. When I am surfer, I never take things for granted and would try to return the favour when I can. I appreciate what every host possibly offers to me. Even though we may not keep in touch afterwards, I always remember all of them and their friendliness :)

Hosting and surfing are different experiences and I like both. When I am a host, I try my best to accommodate my surfers as I know how it feels. And I usually answer requests whether or not I can host. Just don't think it's good to keep people waiting. I first hosted when I was at home with my family. I hosted, even though I already lived in a very tiny space and it was a bit messy. Just wanted to give surfers a new cultural experience and an authentic local taste. My parents liked them too.

Hosted people from China (2), Nigeria (1), Denmark (1), Australia (1), Greece (1), Germany (4) , Russia (2), Japan (1), Portugal (4), Romania (1), Canada (1), Hong Kong (2), Poland (1), Finland (1), France (2), Ukraine (1)...... and enjoyed most of the experience! Became lifelong friends with some of them! Disappointed when I met surfers who took things for granted, expected a hotel-level condition at my place or are racists.

Interessen

Long run, hiking, reading, photography, cooking, languages, special stamps and of course

travelling!

My trip to the Middle East was memorable and inspiring. First got to know more about Islam, a religion that advocates peace.

Want to travel to all Asian countries which can be so different from one another, in terms of cultures and languages. As an Asian, I hope to know more about Asia.

Want to travel to South America and Africa. Love the energy, genuineness and friendliness of these continents. Had lovely African flatmates who cooked very well.

I like taking pictures. I also like hiking and sports. Maybe we can do all these together. Used to hike and run with hosts.
