ABOUT ME
So we're basically students-at-large, part of a household working to build healthy, vibrant & sexy alternatives to the capitalist deathculture of mainstream modern society we keep finding ourselves back in... Our household fluctuates alot as my partner Russ and I rent rooms to boarders who typically stay 3-6 months. Often it's filled with little kid energy and then sometimes it's just 2-4 of us having a beer on the deck without a little one for miles around. As of late it's mostly Noah, Cody, Li and us here as well as those close friends who pop in and who have a regular spot in the toothbrush holder. Our place has lots of folx pass through long enough to call it home to one degree or another though. By the time you write, things might have changed again...
PHILOSOPHY
We're consensus-oriented, gasoline soaked crunchy granola type folx striving for sanity, sustainability & right livelihood while having a fantastic and juicy time of it! (in between being just plain crazy & melodramatic, that is...)We're always in the planning stages of creating a small intentional community with friends and hope to be on the land building our houses within the next few years. We heartily welcome any travlers with community & green building experience to share their advice with us over a meal.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
With little ones around I don't get to travel all that much and when I do I generally use the extended family of the Burner community to find couches. I have been a part of this service for many years now and have mostly been a hostess, which is something I love. Many people and bands have passed through here on the recommendation of one friend or another. We'd probably dig meeting you too!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
All of us have spent much time, as both host and surfer in our combined years on the road, be it crashing in the place of a friend of a friend, joining various communes in the states, creating egalitarian and not-so-egalitarian collectives...we've got alot of stories.
Interests
Sienna says: "Wandering without a path and finding home, intentional communities, co-empowerment, polyamory, road-tripping, reading history, dancing, memetics, radical families, herbs & veggies and flowers...ok all gardening, body art, rats, wasting time on the computer, Burning Man, building the better party and creating healthy culture"Eli & Ezra dig animal crackers, dumping things out and putting them away, hiding in small spaces, laughing and being competitive with each other
Russell is into skill sharing. His main interests are contact juggling, Cyr wheel and capoira. Noah will talk your head off about gabber and hardstyle or perhaps he won't say anything to you at all, but he;ll probably make you a sandwich. He owns this coffee shop which is staffed entirely by members of HoRT. www.fedrva.com Cody is an excitable boy who will likely share some whiskey with you, invite you down to the river and probably be spinning staff in the backyard.
Li will be painting, working on her beautiful graphic novels or busy creating something interesting we're sure. You can see her art at http://mytholalia.com/
The twins will be loud and moving fast. Probably while jumping from some height.
