About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be at home in the physical world.

ABOUT ME

I was born in a house built my father, on the banks of creek in the woods. I was raised there, outside of Austin. I was sung to sleep by old Sam Cooke songs. I love the blues.

Growing up, poets were treated as celebrities. I hold to that.

I also inherited a deep trust in stories. I love to hear them and like to tell them.

The best job I've ever had was shining shoes in Buenos Aires.

All of my best memories are of experiencinng hospitality. The parts that speak to me most in any religion are the parts the encourage hospitality.

Here's a question: is it better to be a vegetarian (or vegan), and to refuse food offered to you in the spirit of hospitality, or to eat whatever is given to you?

I'm really interested in answering this question.

Interests

Live theater, movies, pickup soccer, blues music, poetry, good conversation, learning new recipes.
