ABOUT ME

Hello :^) My name is Somi Han. I'm Korean University student majoring in Food&Nutrition and I'm taking this semester off from school.

I'm travelling all over the EUROPE for 6months with my best friend, YEJI :) I want to see, hear, feel and experience during this trip,and also I want to meet many people in the various countries and communication each other. Because the trip is the best way to learn to live in the world I think!

Sometimes I do something really off the wall because of my curiosity. I like to make an observation learn something new. It's very interesting!

In conclusion, WHAT YOU FEEL WHEN YOU MEET ME IS SAYING ALL OF ME :D

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My best friend's and my parents were worried while I planed a five-month backpacking with my best friend. So we were seriously worried about what should we do to travel safely and interesting. Then we found a CS that is lesser-known project in Korea. We found out more because of the CS is just the project we need for trip and participated in this program.
I want to experience many people's lives before I get a job after college. I think travelling really opens my eyes to other cultures, so I'm eager to make friends and communicate with them through the CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was 13, Japanese friend spent two nights in my house through homestay program organized by school. I remember eating some Korean food with friend and introducing tourist sites. Just the thought of the CS that participating as guest make my heart flutter because I don't have the experience.

I'm travelling with my friend YEJI KAM and we are staying in first CS host's house in Liverpool!
We are going to another CS host's house for 6months and contacting with them :)
We have a nice time in here with my first host so we are very excited about our time with many future hosts.

We are staying forth host's house in Manchester. We cooked some food for each other and talk about various topic. I learned many things about other countries and met good people! It's amazing!

I'm interested in Food. Food is very important in life I think. I like to eat something new and want to eat each country's traditional food. I also love Korean food such as Kimchi, Bibimbap. If you want to taste it and provide us with some ingrediants, I can make the food for you :D (But please understand me we have limited ingredients and no enough money T.T) I hope to eat some food in European countries if it possible.

I'd love to listen music and challeng something new! So this travel (Survive in Europe for 6months with penniless) make my heart flutter! ;)

My favorite writer is Anoine Marie Roger De Saint Exupery who wrote 'A Little Prince'. When I was 10, I read the book but I did not understand the meaning of the novel. I stimbled upon the book in my university library and read again. I was impressed with the novel and read to find his all books. I'd love to listen music and especially like Oasis, Maroon5, Muse and Radiohead.

I'd like to talk about Busan International Film Festival volunteer work. I have no time because my lesson, so I've waited three years to participate in the volunteer work. After I passed the application phase and the interview, I did volunteer work at theater during Busan International Film Festival(BIFF). The film festival run nine days but I could sleep only three or four hours during 3 months because of training. I feel tired all over but the experience has been a really tremendous experience and still lives in my memory.

I'd like to learn something and above all I want to learn how to live in the other culture because I was heard and read in the book only. I really want to enjoy the culture directly. CS is on opportunity for me to learn at firsthand about the country and culture I think.
