Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To be fulfilled and follow my dreams (traveling the world)
ABOUT ME
I am happy, excited, hopeful, energenic, humorous, fun, interesting....
I like to teach AND learn. I think work is overrated but can be rewarding. I strongly support education for all individuals with the understanding that it comes in all types, times and formats.
PHILOSOPHY
Lifelong learning is essential-how ever you define it. To learn is to grow and understand others and yourself.
Live life with courage.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
SEPTEMBER 2011: Entered Peace Corps in June 2011, living in Varnita, Moldova a village about 1.5 hours from Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. I traveled the world for one year(2008-2009) and couchsurfed about 85% of the time. Can't host currently but would love to meet for coffee, beer, wine, and conversation. I will be living in Moldova for the next two years....
UPDATE 2020: Moldova, Nebraska and now Florida....married with dog! Sorry can't accept guests at this time.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Now tons and tons of experience during the 2008-09 with my girlfriend (at the time) Jessica Boyer (Michael Houdyshell and Jessica Boyer profile) through eastern Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and India. We had an amazing experience couchsurfing, met some really great people, I now tell everyone about couchsurfing even if they are not interested in participating.

Music, Movies, and Books
Reading-stories of travel, historical biographies and pretty much I find interesting.
Music-no one kind, if it pleases my ears then it is good with me. However, if pressed to name one type then my more frequent listen is jazz.
Movies-again no one kind with the exception being slasher/horror movies-probably not something I would seek out but have watched.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
After a bad bicycle/motor vehicle accident, I finally began to understand more about what my place in life should be now and in the future. While this may seem trivial to some, to me it was the beginning of a different way of living my life which continues to this day.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to talk about the similarities and differences of systems of higher education (universities) around the world. I have extensive experience working in American higher education. I love the western United States and I am very happy to share wth people about all of the great places to see and things to do in this area. I know enough about bicycles to get myself in trouble and anyone else I am teaching.
