Currently unable to host due to housemates.

Studied International Development Studies in Toronto, now studying online learning using open educational resources (PhD). Spent a year working for an international NGO in Indonesia. Vegetarian. Passionate about open source, open access to research, open educational resources, use of free and open licenses, peer production, potlucks and bike lanes :) Like cooking, juggling, reading, languages, talking in the wee hours... Norwegian by birth, wife is Chinese, lived in China, Indonesia, Sweden, Mexico, Canada...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been very active on hospitalityclub (have lots of comments there under the same username). Also started using CS a fair bit, like this summer in China. Too bad they are hiding the IM names for people who are not on your friend list - that saved my ass in Shanghai this summer, being able to find someone online and get hosted in a last minute situation. Have gone to some meet-ups, including a crazy Indian dance party in Guangzhou :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Norwegian political folk song, Chinese pop, Indonesian dangdut, Bollywood songs (Om Shanti Om), Russian folk songs, Italian political stuff, ... 3 Idiots is a brilliant movie (and Taare Zameen Par, Black, Metro etc). Some good Chinese drama series (Fendou, Woju). Got a Kindle and love it. Great for travellers :)
