About Me

I am born in Rostock, a beautiful town near the Baltic Sea. I still carry that place in my heart. I lived there until I got 15 years, then moved to Hamburg and later to other in towns in Germany, where a first became a Speech Therapist and later studied Environmental Psychology.

I find it hard to describe myself, so I just quote some of my references: People there say, I am outgoing with a great sense of humour and a good conversationalist. Apparently I am relaxed, warm and friendly. Now as I am almost embarrassed by all those positive things, you better find out about some of my negative features... ;)

I love riding my road bike, love taking pictures with my new camera and love travelling and outdoor activities.

I try to always be friendly to people and to meet each other without any prejudices. People are kind and when they're not, there often is a reason for it.

Over the last years I became more interested in topics like sustainability and Degrowth-Economy. I believe that mankind will fail in living on a planet with limited ressources but having unlimited production and consumption.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to piss off AirBnB, who take money for things that CS offers for free, f*#k you Sharing Economy!

CS is great way to get to know new people when you come to a place and don't know anyone. Especially locals are able to show you around places you wouldn't have seen without them, because even Lonely Planet doesn't know about them (thank god! :). But also I find satisfaction in connecting people to each other, for example recommending people you got to know on one place on earth to friends of yours at another place, so that they get a place to stay too. I think we are a generation that can profit so much of our openness and willingness to share.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hosted people back in Magdeburg, but right now, I don't have a place at all and am not able to.
Here in Victoria I created several events like hikes and festival visits and also got to know a bunch of very great CSers, some of them I already consider my good friends. With those people I went hiking, sailing and camping.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
-------

I'm really interested in music and once had my 120GB iPod almost filled, then first my iPod broke and Spotify and Smartphones were invented. :) Reggae, HipHop, Funk, Soul is the music I hear the most, but I don't like genre-borders and am open for any kind of music (In former I days I listend to Slipknot and Korn and my hair was long;).
