ABOUT ME
My favourite activity and life-long overarching hobby is to think and seek fodder for those thoughts wherever I can find it. What really fascinates me about knowledge is that it's always new. This attraction to newness also applies to practical matters, hence when looking back, I have turned the page and started something totally new several times in my life. So I guess my friends tend to describe me as original, restless hopefully in a positive sense, with an eye for the farcical in human life, a strong sense of humour and a thirst for life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't surfed yet, but hosted a few good people at the time of writing, in all cases a surprisingly life-enhancing experience.
Interests
What usually grabs my attention in any circumstance is something I didn't know already. I like surprises to the degree that I can enjoy a pleasant surprise for days. Professionally, I'm a state-certified translator of documents, which is a perfect occupation for me since every job is new. My spare time I usually spend reading, either books or on the Internet, or travelling. Like everyone else, I can only afford to travel so much abroad, but make it up to myself by taking short trips from my hometown almost daily.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I come from an island famous for its ferocious storms, yet to my flabbergastation, the strongest wind I have encountered in my life was in the cliffs of France facing Dover. It was strong enough that one could stand at a 45° angle from vertical and be stable. Unforgettable.
Another particularly moving recent experince was when I participated as a member of the choir in the opening ceremony of the new and big concert hall here in Reykjavik. We sang Beethoven's 9th at the top of our voices, a uniquely moving experience.
