ABOUT ME

I trained as a kick-ass world saving scientist, upon completion of my training I was courted by the forces of evil and was almost tempted to join them but I managed to turn my back on the riches they offered. I dropped off their radar and roamed for a couple of years contemplating the best way for me to make use of the great power I possessed. After a long and winding search I decided I needed to use my powers for good and to go nurture the next generation of scientists so we can continue to save the world... That is why I now find myself in Manchester doing a science PGCE; maybe even in the future I'll turn my back on the forces of good and become a real life Walter White.

PHILOSOPHY

Just say yes! When I was busy with work/ studies there far too many things I didn't do because I didn't have time, energy, money, etc. Over the last year or so I've been doing my best to go along to anything fun that gets suggested to me. I've got to say I much prefer life like this.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was in around Nottingham CS for a few years after being introduced by a friend of mine, I did admittedly drift back out again when life got a bit too busy; going to try and resurrect some CS involvement now that I'm in a new city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've played a lot of Frisbee over the years so have piled into people's houses with 10 team mates in the past and returned the favour for similarly large groups of strangers so many times that I've now lost count!

I spent a couple of weeks couchsurfing down the east cost of America and had a great time; I met a bunch of fascinating, welcoming people who added so much to my trip.

Interests

Travelling! I've done pretty well on getting away to different places with different people over the last year. Sports, playing (badly), watching, I can get into pretty much anything. Gigs, I love live music and try to get myself out to something live most weeks

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A month in India a few years ago where I explored a little more of my past and roots and it really helped wake me up to the massive sacrifices so many people made for me to be here and live my life freely without any hassle... Kind of humbling when you think about it like that.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach... Some Punjabi, how to throw a frisbee in a variety of ways, I have a reasonable knowledge of chemistry/metal/football so I'm sure I can pass some of that on!

Learn... Anything! I love to learn, from new languages to random bits of information that may actually be complete lies. I'll just Hoover it all up, I'll try at least.
