About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the most of the amazing things that life has to offer

ABOUT ME

I never fail to be amazed and inspired by how many great people and beautiful places there are in the world! I love travelling and living in different places and can't imagine a time when I won't be wondering what adventures there are to be had in some new place...

I'm originally from the UK, but ten years ago I got itchy feet and went to travel and work for a year in New Zealand. Then I went to Australia and I've been living here ever since. I'm really happy to be an Aussie citizen now too. I travelled to Costa Rica in late 2011 and taught English in San Jose for six months. After some amazing travels to El Salvador and Nicaragua, I'm back now in Australia and very content to be right where I am.....at least for now!

PHILOSOPHY

Even a long life is a short life...experience as much as you can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not really in a position to be able to host at the moment, but I could meet up for a coffee. Haven't really done much couchsurfing myself...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It was really nice to meet up with fellow couch surfers in San Jose and El Salvador.

Interests

I love nature and the outdoors - hiking, camping, surfing, swimming, biking and healthy, wholesome living. In Costa Rica I've loved the jungle, swimming holes, waterfall and waves! I also love the experience of shopping for fresh fruit and veg at the markets.

When I'm not out in nature, I love a good book, playing music, good conversation and laughter, visiting galleries (I studied History of Art at University and I LOVE the arts) or just chilling out and enjoying quiet time...

Music, Movies, and Books

At the moment I can't get enough of the UK new folkies - Mumford and Sons, Laura Marling etc...and I just discovered Delafé y las Flores Azules and they make me want to jump for joy! but I have a pretty eclectic taste in music..the whole spectrum from punk to chill out and classical - I love to hear an orchestra live! Music makes the world an even better place.

I love quirky/arty or inspiring movies and cinema from around the world. I also love pretty much all of the performing arts. My favorite books are inspiring books about people adventuring or making a difference - trekking deserts, climbing mountains, cycling round the world etc...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A moonbow - a rainbow made by the light of the moon, saw it on my birthday and was totally inspired!

Countries I’ve Visited

Fiji, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Norway, Spain, Thailand, Viet Nam
