ABOUT ME

I'm a fun-loving and spontaneous person, with a serious side as well. While I am not working as one, I am a licensed Singapore tourist guide, so I would be glad to accompany anyone around Singapore.

"If we let things terrify us, life will not be worth living.": this quote is particularly relevant to how I wish to travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've only surfed so far and I'm looking forward to surfing at even more places, and maybe hosting sometime in the near future.

Currently however, it's not convenient for me to host anyone, but if you're in desperate situations, do let me know and I will see what I can do for you.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I began surfing on my journey to Europe through Asia and Russia in 2012 and 2013, and I really enjoyed it. It was great to see, taste and understand the city and its people from a local perspective. I hope to learn more about other cities via couchsurfing in the future!

Interests

I enjoy a wide range of activities, from basketball to photography to food. Reading good books and watching movies (no horror ones though haha) qualify too. Of course, any time is a good time to have a laugh :)

When it comes to travelling, I'm more interested in appreciating the local way of life rather than rushing to all the tourist attractions. Having guided a few tours in Singapore, now as a traveler, I'd like to see a country from a local's perspective too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like action and war/military movies, e.g. The Guardian, Pearl Harbour. The Batman trilogy is also in my favourite list of movies. For fiction books, The Da Vinci Code is definitely one of my favourites. I read more non-fiction though, with topics ranging from biology (The Selfish Gene) to economics (The Logic of Life).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a 4-month solo backpacking trip from Singapore to Europe by train and bus only. It started as a dream in 2007, and I decided to just do it and embarked on my first solo trip in Nov 2012. I've seen and learnt many things on that trip, and I can't wait to go on my next adventure!

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn more about the daily life, history and culture of a place from a local perspective and also to try out the various types of food. And if you are coming to Singapore, I would be glad to show you around too.

I'm not exactly talented in anything, but I can share photography tips. And whatever I can help with, I will definitely help!
