I'm Hubert and I come from Poland. I'm 19 years old and are currently preparing for university studies.
From an early age my parents instilled in me a passion for traveling and discovering previously unknown corners. When my parents were teenagers, they didn't have such a possibility because of the prevailing in Poland since 1945. communist regime. Poland, like Hungary, the GDR or Czechoslovakia, were satellite states of the USSR. It was then possible to travel through a special document and mainly to other countries under the jurisdiction of Moscow. Now, 30 years after the fall of communism, the inhabitants of these areas can travel freely, although when I was a child I remember border controls when Poland was not yet part of the Schengen Agreement. However, the current realities are definitely more beneficial and I want to use the time of my growing up on personal development through sightseeing, traveling and meeting new and interesting people on my way. When I'm over 18 and I can travel alone, I want to fulfill my assumptions to the maximum. My language skills leave much to be desired (therefore, do not pay attention to my mistakes;)), so I would like to develop in this field through travels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I registered in the Coachsurfing application, because I am passionate about the world and I know that only in such - a direct way can I experience unforgettable adventures while learning about other cultures and customs. In addition, my budget, as befits a teenager, is very limited, so I would like to combine business with pleasure. The world is for people, so I do not want to limit myself to passive observation and watching photos of other people on the internet. I want to experience, feel and remember, so that I could once say that in this world, where it came to exist, I saw everything.

I am a huge fan of Paolo Sorrentini's films. I appreciate every film genre, but only if you can see the artistry of the director. I love gangster cinema and art films. I can freely talk about movie classics or productions nominated for an Oscar. I invite you to follow me on Filmweb.

Because of my interests, I like to read political, political and social books, or take up a broadly understood connection between geopolitical issues after the Second World War.

I qualified for the DiscoverEU competition, thanks to which I will travel across Europe by receiving an InterRail ticket from the European Union.

I can talk about political, social and economic topics and present the history of my country / region. I'm a man with a definite (better or worse) knowledge on many different topics. I am also a fan of sports, music (I'm a saxophonist) and, of course, geography and travel.
