ABOUT ME

Abstract:
30 year old guy playing guitar/singing in and indie pop band, working in the hospital and offering a mattress or couch (or both, if you're the needy type :) ) to travelers visiting the fine city of Arnhem.

Full text:
My name is Niels and I'm a 30year old guy living in the awesome city of Arnhem in the eastern part of the Netherlands. A few ago I found out about couchsurfing and the experiences so far have been awesome (life changing I might say). I guess this is the place to tell you a little more about myself, so here are the basics:
I work in the hospital in Arnhem as a nuclear medicine technologist, which isn't half as scary, but twice as cool as it sounds. In my free time I play in a band called Horse Fashion. I grew up in a small town called Sint-Oedenrode and I still go there quite often, since that's where our rehearsal room is (don't let it scare you off though, when you want to crash here during the weekends it's not a problem to stay here).
Since I joined couchsurfing a few years ago, I've hosted people from Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. All experiences so far have been nothing but amazing. Wether it's just having an easy evening with some drinks and talks, parties in the city centre (oh god, let's never end up in de Buik again), or long hikes/bike rides through the National Parks close to Arnhem. All good fun.
Apart from offering my couch, I've been joining and organising some events, like monthly meetings and dinner parties (the bi-yearly pancake dinner at my place has become a tradition). I met a lot of great people through this website and hope people will continue to visit this beautiful part of the country. All the best!!!

-Niels

PHILOSOPHY

I bet I can jump that far.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting:
There's enough space here to host about 6 to 7 people, though most of the time it's not that busy around Arnhem. The most I've hosted at one time was 5 people and it was a lot of fun. There're 2 comfortable couches (as seen in the picture section), a spare room with a mattress and an inflatable mattress.

Events:
I organized quite a few dinner parties and drinking parties (I'd say I like the dinner parties best, but that's just because I never seem to remember the second half of the drinking parties). The CS community in Arnhem is really active as well and there's always something fun going on.
