ABOUT ME

Fun and crazy (but not insane-heh heh) lady, and a single mom of 3. We love animals, and I have a fine collection of birds. I'm a NON-smoker, and am drug-free. I drink socially. Get along pretty much with anyone, from all walks of life...even my teenage son's friends tell me they love me all the time! I find myself to be easy-going, one who can even look at some of the stresses of life as an adventure! I try to be pleasant, consider myself good-natured, and good-humored, and definitely good-hearted. I have a wide variety of interests, and am usually game to do pretty much anything...with a few limitations. (If the back wasn't such a mess I'd be chuting and bunji-jumping!)

PHILOSOPHY

Due to the loss of close friends recently, and near-death experiences with a couple of them, I've decided to start living like I'm dying. We never know how long we will be here on this planet, hence, SEIZE the DAY...make the best of every moment, and try not to sweat the things that aren't going to matter once we're gone. I'm doing my best to invest myself into my kids and family, and trying to see as much as I can of the world while I can!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've gone to some of the outings in Philly, and attended the bowling events in Brooklawn, NJ. Very fun to meet other surfers...always a great time!
Hosted one surfer for an extended stay...fun!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted once, and that was fun...I've taken in people in need over the last 5 years, and it's been interesting! to say the least! Most have stayed for long periods of time. However, I've learned some things the hard way: I will not tolerate people who do hard drugs or who get drunk all the time (here and there is ok, just not up for alchies), and if they steal from me, I charge them! I've crashed at people's homes on their couch during some of my travels, and so far, I've had really great experiences with that. (Except getting waken by a dog licking my lips! EW!) Love dogs!!! from a distance.

Intelligent conversation, good laughs, movies, dining out, day-trips, traveling, the shore and mountains, FILM-MAKING and acting, family and friends, zoos, aquariums, museums, concerts, festivals, flea markets, LIVE sporting events (not much for watching them on TV, but with a friend or group is fun), bike riding, boating, swimming, hiking, camping (but the ol back groans on that one!), church, singing, bonfires, ethnic restaraunting, dancing (with friends or a hot dude! LOL), ice skating shows...and the list goes on....

MOVIES: I love GENUINELY funny things, without them being too crass or too sexual. I love a good romance or drama, action (but prefer it to be realistic), and horror without gore. Maybe I've seen too much gore in my life first-hand as a nurse to enjoy slasher movies!

Music: pretty much anything but Rap (here and there is ok) Not into a lot of big band, or twangy country. The music has to be right for the mood...Country is cool if I'm out playing pool or riding in my friend's 18-wheeler...Big band is good at a live concert...etc.

Books: I hate to admit I'm not a big reader, but love a good mystery or romance, anything interesting that moves...Actually, I happen to be writing a few of my own...

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I've been blessed with an amazing life, I think!!! Will share here, that I got to live in the Philippines for 7 years as a missionary kid, and got to help my doctor dad do surgery and deliver babies as a kid...Helped deliver a baby at 9 years old! That's pretty amazing! I also got to co-pilot our mission plane (helio) on my way to (boarding) school as a kid.

People who actually want to LIVE life...People who love to laugh, and who don't stress over small stuff...people who have a wide variety of interests, and who don't mind taking the time to explain something new to me so that I can learn. Love people from different countries who can speak English well enough to have a good conversation...I'm fine with people who don't speak it, but if they LIVE HERE, they should be willing to learn the language.
