I grew up in South Africa and New Zealand, spent two wonderful years studying on Erasmus in Europe, and now work in beautiful Stellenbosch.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have an empty room in my house and I'd like to meet travellers. When I was travelling, people were very kind and helpful, so I'd like to return it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was studying in Nancy in France I took my bicycle, my tent and my sleeping bag, and started cycling. I had no real idea of where I wanted to go, I had no map, no internet, but only the Moselle river as a guide. After several days cycling between vineyards and castles, I arrived in Koblenz, on the Rhine. I followed the Saar river back and got home one week after leaving. Along the way I met someone walking the Jacobsweg (to Compostela), I ate wild pears and apples, and had a beer while watching sunset over the river with some friendly strangers.
