I'm an American citizen but have lived in England my whole life. This summer, I'm hoping to explore the US West Coast for the first time to visit some new places and meet some amazing people.

My professional background has been in journalism, marketing and PR and these roles have continually shown me the importance of connecting with other people. I also have in degree in History from the University of Leeds and I'm always keen to understand the cultures and traditions that make a place unique.

I'm a sociable person and one of the main reasons I enjoy travelling is to make new friends abroad.

I also think that the best way to explore a new place is with its residents - the people who know it best.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm very passionate about music and enjoy a range of artists on both sides of the Atlantic. I recently travelled to Spain for a music festival with friends and a selection of bands I watched there include Arcade Fire, Pixies, Grimes and New Order.

Other favourite artists include Radiohead, The Smiths, The Strokes, Kanye West and Pulp.

I love to read and many of my favourite authors are American. These include Jack Kerouac, Bret Easton Ellis and Hunter S. Thompson.

However, I always enjoy hearing recommendations from others and know that good conversation or debate can often spark this.
