About Me

_________

I’m currently travelling.

Around Savoie I could be out in the mountains for the week end ("Because the mountains are calling, and I must go"), on my bike or simply hiking. I would also be happy to share this time with you up there!
I use to work as a bartender in the old town of St Malo. Three years ago, during my first studies, I was living in Lannion, in far north west of France, now I'm inside the mountains, close by a smaller sea, still in a lovely place for the next few years. But I grew up somewhere else, in the beautiful Saint-Malo, a medieval city in french britanny.
My friend would say I'm a friendly open minded person. I don't really think I'm difficult to live with..
I cook a lot ! Not especially some good french cuisine, I love spiced dishes like in most indian, maghreb or central african cuisines. I particularely enjoy greek cuisine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that couchsurfing is a great opportunity to discover new cultures. The best way to get the "truth" of the place you're visiting is by immerging yourself deep in the local life. I get this is exactly the point of CS. And you keep contact so you mights host your previous hosts in return.
I don't like to sleep in hotel because so many things are hidden, people are paid to be kind with you, and you're not even able to cook by yourself for this price ...

I still don't have lots of experience in couchsurfing but I really want to discover it. And why not become a great couchsurfer to host traveller and make them discover my natal region, the Bretagne or around Chambery and Aix les Bains, where I'm actually studying

Interests

I really appreciate trekking, hiking or simply walking on the nature with tent and backpack. It make me feel so close to simple things and away of all kind of consumerism.

I love hitchhiking. When I discovered that, I automatically fell in love with this way of travelling where you can met locals, have nice conversations with them, and the best advices about the region you're visiting. I've been doing it for almost 3 years and it gave me so many reflections about the incredibly different kind of people living in this world and the lifestyle they choose.

When I'm home, I'm spending all my time to work at the bar, to walk along the coast, or practicing kayak.

I enjoy good food, beers wines et old rum. Each time I'm visiting a city, I need to discover the local ones or the most originals (if possible). Discovering the local gastronomy is definitely one of the biggest part of the area or country's culture.

Simply, I love meeting people enjoying life !
I love to be out of my confort zone, in a place I've never been before, with peoples I don't know yet. It's all about learning and seeing new things. That's the way of living I love the most for now.

Music, Movies, and Books

I can't spend a day without music! I've been listening to all kind of music but I'm actually listening a lot of classic piano (Debussy, Liszt, Ravel, Satie..) and jazz (Keith Jarrett, Brad Meldhau, Avishai Cohen, Coltrane, Brubeck, Chet Baker). Some other musicians I really love could be Ibrahim Maalouf, Trio Joubran, Leonard Cohen, Abd Al Malik, Manu Chao..

I read a lot, from classic litterature to contemporary one. I enjoy reading poetry as well, a various kind from different horizons, in addition to scientific books and articles (philosophy, anthropology, geography, history, art..) which remains my main type of reading interest.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I met a woman in Aqaba
