About Me

My name is Hugo Torres and I'm 26 years old. I was born in Itabira, Minas Gerais State, Brazil, and now I live in BH, the state's capital. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Federal University of Itajubá, Brazil .Currently, I'm working as a Project analyst at a Solar Tracking company and I'm also doing my master at CEFET mg (Ok, I know, so far it's looking like a linkedin profile).
I love to travel, not only to visit touristical places, but also to meet and talk new people, find out new perspectives, new cultures and have great experiences. I'm a humble person (for me, the non-material things are the most important) and I'm very friendly too - it's usually very easy to be friends with me. I'm a terrible cook, though :/

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First, I think it's a very good way to meet local people. Being a guest in someone else's house can offer some experiences that hostels just can't. Furthermore, besides having this special experience, if there is more free time with the host, I can also bring stories and have conversations about where I came from - It's a good culture exchange. Second, it's an awesome way to save money when travelling. Ans third, receiving guests can be a very good chance to exchange culture again, but also to show gratitude and to do some help for people aiming so.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was an extra in a Korean movie, acting in the background as an U.S.A Navy soldier. The movie's name in English is Operation Chromite. They have Liam Neeson in the cast (yeah, he is in a Korean Movie). In my profile here, you can see a photo of this.
