ABOUT ME

We're a couple of students who want to enjoy free time and to travel together. We've been sharing a common way and many passions for quite a long time now and it finally led us to an obsession : there's a world full of life all around and we just have to meet it.
Now it's time to introduce you a bit more our little team. So let's do it step by step :

Lou : I'm studying medicine for two years now, it's very exciting and I like it but I don't want to spend all my lifetime thinking about it. There's so much things to see or to do in this world I can't stand being totally involved in only one of them : helping people is a great reason to live but it isn't the only one and unfortunatly I only have one life -I wish I was a cat with nine lives-. I'm neither an early bird nor a very athletic girl in my everyday life (and it's a pity because a twenty-four hours day is not enough for me but, on the other hand, to love to sleep and to take time to really enjoy the simple everyday things is, to my mind, one of the best way to be happy). Moreover, I'm much more physically active when I travel (on the road, yeah !) as I am very enthusiastic, very excited to discover another part of such a fascinating world. Furthermore, I'm a very social person and I've always loved spending my time with people : family, friends, everybody who agrees to share something with me... It sometimes makes me happy to stay a few hours on my own, to draw, to read, to let my mind wander... but I can't bear living alone and I highly believe (and no matter if it's a hot chocolate or the most beautiful landscape in the world) that "happiness is only real when shared."

Hugo : definitely a free time addict... I just live for these moments when I realize that I can do whatever I want in this particular instant, far from any schedule, just facing my own imagination.I am a curious person who never miss the occasion of learning anything,who try to keep an open-mind and hope that I will remain until the end "a human being under construction". I'm looking for life experiences so I will follow you for sure if you tell me that this day will be different than the one I had before. I see my travels as my "great adventure" times so you will always find me in an unassailable good mood, full of curiosity and energy. My friends often describe me as a "zen" person, what's sure is that I am certainly not an irritable man. I am definitely not a guy who's looking for some material comfort, I just expect sharing moments of laugh, generosity and exchange. Finally ( because you might be already asleep héhé ), just want to say that I'm a tolerant person who has been raised in a humanist, solidary and activist thinking and you might feel it in my way of life, travelling or at home.

PHILOSOPHY

Etre posés ! (No stress, be cool and enjoy everything (or nearly)). The world we experience is restricted just by our imagination, which feeds of our meetings and of our findings. A character with an optimistic purposeful and open mind, should be a part of some great adventures. Free to assume our own choices, to enjoy emancipation, we have to resist, support and act for those who spend a entire life in struggle, far beyond our borders, or just at our street's corner.

We don't believe there's Somebody up there but we think a lot of people are clever enough to respect the others without it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We would like to travel a lot to meet people all around the world, but we'd be also pleased to welcome surfers in our appartment in Rouen and make them discover our sweet little city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We surfed three couches in Copenhagen and it was soooo great !

Interests

Lou : Drawing, Reading, Cooking cakes, Spending time with people, Watching movies, Singing -out of tune or not- with other people, Listenning to old great rock'n'roll music, Eating tasty dishes, Teaching something interesting to somebody who's also interested, Having drinks in pubs with friends, Dancing like a fool on great music (unfortunately, I don't think "dance" is the appropriate term to describe my movements), doing world-making exercises (often very late at night),...

Hugo : playing music ( mainly drums,also congas, tablas, guitar, recently didgeridoo ), juggling (mainly devilstick, clubs and balls), reading, listening to old vinyls lying on the floor (sometimes in a bed when I'm in a cosy mood)with the woman before, watching movies,hiking, spending times with friends and getting in touch with new people, talking about everything and nothing.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lou : The most beautiful and most amazing landscape I've ever seen are the sand dunes of Arakao in the Tenere desert in Niger : it was so wonderful to walk on it at sunrise !

Hugo : I was hypnotized by the amazing Jokursarlon Lake in Iceland : I couldn't stop starring at the icebergs floating in the glacial waters surrounded by mist... one moment out of time !

Teach, Learn, Share

Look at our hobbies ;)
Of course, we will be pleased to share with a guest or a host all we know and learn anything people we'll meet can teach us... that's what life is about !
We really would like to learn how to dance Rock'n'Roll but be careful, we're not very talented students.
