Overview
About Me
Born and raised in Hong Kong, I hadn't had many travelling experiences until I went to university, where I had many overseas exposures, like internship in Beijing, and volunteering in Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand. These experiences built up my interest in seeing and feeling the world with my own eyes and feet.
I had lived in Hong Kong all my life until I got the opportunity to go on exchange in Adelaide, Australia during my third year in university. Interacting with people from many different backgrounds, I was amazed by how different a culture can be from my own. I was excited to have gained new perspectives of viewing things and become more open-minded. I can't wait to explore more!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe travelling isn't just about scenery and food and stuff, but also making connections with people. So I would love to make new friends in different parts of the world by couchsurfing, especially because I often travel solo.
When I was volunteering in a eco-resort in Chiang Mai, Thailand, I met a lady (who came to the resort to relax for the weekend) who offered me to stay at her place in the city after I was done with volunteering. Besides showing me around, she told me a lot about Thai culture and brought me to her family's place for dinner!! And then when I was travelling in Vietnam, I met a guy in a local restaurant. Knowing I was a tourist, he initiated a conversation with me and treated me the meal. The next day he brought me around with his motorbike after work! Both of them told me they were doing this because they received a lot of help as a backpacker before so they would like to give back now. I was really impressed so I hope I have the opportunity to give back now :)
Since I live in a small flat with my parents so I might not be able to host now. But if you are desperately looking for a place to stay then you can send me a request and I will ask my parents. And if you are coming to Hong Kong I'm happy to show you around and bring you to some more "local" places :)
I had my very first couchsurfing experience in Paris in 2016 and then couchsurfed in four other cities - it's the best part of my trip! I got to really live their lifestyle (even for just a few days) and understand their attitude on issues - the cultural differences were really really interesting and eye opening! I learnt so much from my hosts and we always had a nice time hanging out. As many people say, couchsurfing is really the best way to learn about a place :)
Interests
I didn't know I was such an adventurous person until the first time I went travelling solo...or maybe in Hong Kong it is just not a mainstream thing in my age. I just love trying out new things and meeting new people - the sense of "unknown" somehow excites me haha.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm not really into movies and books, but if there's one I like I fall crazily in love with it and can barely take my mind off it lol. And I prefer documentaries/reality shows than fictions/fantasies :)
I'm a big music lover - somehow I especially like old (80s and 90s) songs like ABBA and Beatles, AND OF COURSE OLD CANTO-POP SONGS!!! Probably because they remind me of the good old days in my childhood - I just can't help being nostalgic sometimes. I also enjoy singing, especially choral singing.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Doing skydiving, snorkeling, scuba-diving, river rafting and jet skiing in 5 days...despite the fact that I can't swim. I thought I was going to die during scuba-diving but the breathtaking scene of the Great Barrier Reef made it well worth it.
Teach, Learn, Share
The way people view and do things - how and why, getting rid of stereotypes...
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hong Kong/ Chinese/ Asian culture, my travelling experiences, music...maybe my favourite Canto-pop songs!
My cooking skills are just mediocre but I'm happy to make you some Hong Kongese food :P
