Overview
About Me
I am a writer, educator, and community organizer from New York City! I am 23 years old, Chinese American traveling the world solo for a year on a post-graduation fellowship to study Chinatowns and global Chinese immigration. I am passionate about exploring, performing and hosting open mics, trying extreme sports, dance, and learning to cook food from home, wherever that may be.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I travel to be immersed in the local culture and learn about the different ways people live. It's easiest and the most fun to do that by meeting and living with people from that country. I am always up for new adventures in cities where I am there for the first time and I love sharing stories with others. I have been traveling for 11 months and have lived in 8 different countries. I want to continue making friends around this world.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love animated movies, memoirs, creative non-fiction books, children's books. I sing loudly to r&b songs, whatever's on the radio, especially during karoake. You can find me trying to ride the waves on a surfboard, or other days marveling at the books in a bookstore.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveled solo through Peru, Cuba, South Africa, China, Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia
Climbed Machu Picchu alone with my stuffed polar bear, Cloud
Climbed the Yellow Mountains, reaching Alchemy Peak
Trekked in Sa Pa, Vietnam
Recently got scuba diving certified in Malaysia :)
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching: English, Cantonese, cooking honey soy sauce chicken, biking, swimming
Learn: New languages, what life is like in other countries
Share: Stories from people around the world and gentle ways of being. I can talk existential questions about life and the universe for a long time.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good company to go on adventures exploring the city, advice on traveling solo around the world, how to find wonder in the ordinary. I can also practice English, Spanish, and Cantonese with anyone interested in learning new languages. And I am always up for trying new sports and new food, like my recent-discovery for my love of surfing.
