ABOUT ME

We're back. After being off of CS for a few years!

Caryl: I am a fine art painter, art educator, peer councilor, gardener and passionate world traveler. I am a seeker of diverse cultural experiences which inspire me and my artwork. I was born and raised in central NJ then college in OH and CA. I settled in Oakland, CA for 25 years during which time I lived in or visited UK, Cuba, France, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Nigeria and most recently Ghana. In addition to lots of US road trips. I love to share my experiences with young people in the form of hands on art workshops in schools and community settings! Organic gardening is also my joy, I am working to grow everything we eat! I love my husband and family, both blood and chosen. Life is good!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Caryl: On a trip that I took years ago across the Yucatan, I realized that I am no longer interested in traveling as a tourist. Hangin in the community is where it's at! CS2 is a good way to connect with good people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just had a great experiences surfing along the East coast to Florida last month. A road trip with 2 girlfriends gave me the opportunity to try out my surfing legs. I appreciate how kind our hosts at each site were. Every home was quite different and all were welcoming.
I suggest communicating in a clear concise way with your hosts and all will go fabulously!

Interests

Caryl: My interests include architecture, design, photography, music, dancing, living art and old old art and artists, making things, lakes, rivers, ocean, hiking, star gazing and camping. Living with the seventh generation in mind. Gardening
