About Me

CURRENT MISSION

'To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before' --William Shatner

ABOUT ME

See below :o )

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have currently participated in the surfing of a couple of couches with a friend of mine--with fantastic hosts each time. Unfortunately I am currently away from home and do not have a place of my own to offer to likewise surfers but I am always happy to meet with someone in the area and explore a bit. I also recommend CouchSurfing to everyone!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only had a few experiences thus far but they have certainly been positive ones. My hosts were very nice, accommodating, trusting, and eager to show my friend and I around the area.

Interests

Currently I'm becoming increasingly interested in different fighting/martial arts styles--I've been a casual student here and there but never have done much seriously. I enjoy sparring and am planning to increase my training when I get back home.

Another area of interest is, naturally, science and the community associated with the method of learning. It feels strange to list science as an interest as its more of an assumption--as a human, as a living thing--I am a scientist and I practice the method and enjoy the art in everything I do.

Looking at and enjoying art is quite nice, learning, walking, seeing and experiencing different things . . I like it all!

Music, Movies, and Books

The good stuff--you know?

Well, I cannot say that this is ever an easy question to take on but . . . I like anything good. I typically enjoy my music with good and plentiful bass/a good beat; funk, rock, blues, tribal, and older hip-hop fit the bill well but I'll take anything really. I must be honest--lyrics aren't most important to me and I don't listen to them actively, but they're a bonus. Music is for dancing for me. I can certainly enjoy some laid back and more lyrically focused songs, however.

I'm not a very good focused reader but when I do partake--Science Fiction is what I lean towards. Same may go for movies as well--science fiction and/or lonely and personal journey sorts of stories are some that I enjoy in particular. Documentaries are always welcome in my book as well. Anime/animated films or series, movies, other sorts of series I enjoy typically have a 'cool' feel to them--an independent, lonely, journey, hero sort of feel usually.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I cannot say that I'm particularly advanced at any particular thing but I enjoy the art and discovery involved in baking and cooking any ol' thing. Baking particularly :o )

I draw a bit here and there as well--but most of all I'm interested in learning, from you, perhaps.
