About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To spread peace and goodwill as much as I can, everywhere I go.
ABOUT ME
My friends might describe me as kind, calm, gentle, fun-loving and intelligent. I'm a loyal friend and strive to maintain my friendships for the rest of my life.
I am a San Francisco native and I love to show people the local gems that no guide book is likely to show you (I've often surprised other SF natives with some of my spots).
I've been to Burning Man 8 times, and am connected with many related communities. I volunteer with San Francisco Sex Information and am also related to many of SF's sex-positive communities.
PHILOSOPHY
Be here now. Live for the moment as much as you can.
Love yourself and take the best care of yourself as you possibly can (hey, it makes perfect sense as a life strategy, right?)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm new to CouchSurfing and am open to finding new ways to participate.
For now I'm very interested in playing tour guide for visitors to the San Francisco area. Like hiking in urban environments? Looking for hidden gems in SF? Talk to me :).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I first became very familiar with CouchSurfing while working there as a software engineer for a year or so. I haven't been able to host or I would do so as often as possible, and I look forward to eventually couch surfing during some traveling adventures.
While I haven't hosted or surfed yet, I have met hundreds of members at various social events, and have found couch surfers to be consistently among the most awesome, kind and interesting people I have known.
Interests
Hiking, tennis, biking, being in nature in any way, mushroom hunting, hot springs, redwood trees, guiding out-of-towners around San Francisco. I enjoy games of all kinds--card games, 'classic' games like chess and backgammon, board games, and lately I've become particularly interested in 'alternative-reality' games that try to positively change the world through people playing together in meatspace.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skydiving
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach about most things computer-related, how to speak French with an American accent, and can answer most questions having to do with human sexuality (I volunteer as a sex educator) .
I love to share great hiking spots and other places in nature, and now feel confident guiding people into the forest to gather edible mushrooms.
I can also teach about poker, blackjack, and pretty much any other game offered in a casino (I made my living throughout my 20's playing poker, and ultimately put myself through school with my winnings).
I'm also pretty knowledgable about San Francisco and its history, and love to share what I know.
I'd love to learn more about how to cook, and how to eat well (almost always organic, local, vegetarian).
