About Me
Back on the hosting game. Selectively.
CURRENT MISSION
I believe arts and culture are the foundation for any community or nation. So I will defend to death the rights of people to enjoy, critique, and create arts.
ABOUT ME
First comes respect. From respect, the seeds of civility and kindness blossom.
I love cooking. As my grandma said: Cooking for someone is the most honest act of love and devotion.
Don't always make crazy plans. But once I do, I make sure I follow through with my decision.
PHILOSOPHY
I have two things that I love most in life: the people that i care about and myself. Some people ask me why. It's quite simple: If you don't harbor a good and healthy relationship with yourself, you can never feel benevolent enough to care about others.
I don't plan my future. I trace my step to it one by one. The concept of a planned ending pretty much ruins imagination and adventurous thrill.
Traveling means accepting to say "See you later!", not "Farewell".
You can't save all the dolphins that are washed ashore. But the ones that you save will survive, breed babies, and swim in the ocean. That's how you make a difference.
Being 20-something is not about being wise and know-it-all. Being 20-something is to be fucked up by life, get beaten down, and stand up again and try an alternative way. Trials and errors, that's the key for young people.
The sweetness of a solitary life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Going on trips and attend some of the CS meetings. I can take you around to cool places and coffee if you ever visit Copenhagen!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Mind-boggling stories from all of my hosts. Make me feel ashamed about how much I haven't yet done in my life. They surely give me a lot of motivation!
My first host in Prague made me crepe for breakfast. Early-in-the-morning mouthgasms...
Driving around the Moon-lit Table Mountain and watching Cape Town from above.
Going to cafes in Hanoi. And walking under the rain in the Old Quarter.
Interests
Arts and culture, contemporary arts in Southeast Asia and the Global South, Gender equality, feminism, LGBTQ rights, fighting for social justice on a daily basis through big or small deeds. So would be nice if my surfers are interested in the same topics :D
Wandering around, looking at interesting things, listening to street music, going to museums (ones that are free haha), riding the trains, talking to people, taking lots and lots of photos, sticking my nose into books, watching people, immersing myself into nature, walking by the ocean, swimming. Savoring the moments. And the list goes on.

Music, Movies, and Books
Love most type of music that I can either dance to or enjoy with a warm cup of tea. Love movies with twisted plots and surprising changes. Will devour any good book in sight. I'm not all that picky haha. But my mood regulates my choices in all of these arts.
But I do have some favorites...

Pedagogy of the Oppressed
All of Haruki Murakami's books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Receiving a hug from a child with autism that I worked with in Ghana.
Lying face-up on the cliffs of Howth in Ireland.
Sitting by the icy ocean in Copenhagen.
Walking/escaping tourists in Praha.
Immersing in Gaudi's architecture in Barcelona.
Getting lost on Table Mountain. Best and most thrilling experience ever in my hiking career!
Sailing and singing on a wooden raft with my Marshallese friends across the Pacific Ocean. And watching the island sunsets. Yes, gorgeous, crimson, papaya-bleeding sunsets.
Riding through the road Rừng Sác to Cần Giờ, a beautiful coastal city in Southern Vietnam.
Meeting Kidlat Tahimik, a fascinating film-director/storyteller from the Phillipines. A true hero who fights against colonialism!
Inhaled the cold air on top of the Himalayas in Bhutan.

I can cook pretty good Vietnamese food, and I can sign a little bit. Recipe exchange and language exchange is always appreciated. And music, photos, and stories of places and people that I have visited and hugged.
