About Me

I quit my job and sold my house to make time to travel, make new friends and experience new things before settling down again.
Day 1 is October 28, 2017 headed to Charleston. I will cycle to Jacksonville, FL then visit my parents in Tampa.
I will be in Nepal in November and December, Germany/Amsterdam over Christmas and New Year's, Thailand for the winter.

My latest passion is genetic genealogy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went cycling with a friend along the Rhein in September 2005 and stayed one night in Basel, Freiburg, Strassburg, Karlsruhe and Bensheim. It was an awesome experience.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cycled from Basel to Mannheim over 4 days - not a world record, but i'm not a serious athlete or cyclist

I also saw the Great Wall of China, Luxor and the Great Pyramids, the Ayudhaya and Sukhothai ruins, ancient Thai capitals. But Angkor Wat was really the most impressive. Maybe Luxor is more impressive because it was much older, though.

edited 6 years later: In the meantime I've done cycle tours in France, Spain, Thailand and Laos. I'm happy to have discovered this awesome hobby!
