My name is Hunter Smith and I am a recently graduated 22 year old. For the past 3 years I have worked with several different outdoor company's and helped lead many wilderness initiatives. I love being outside and enjoying nature which is the main reason I came to Iceland. For the past 4 weeks I have been traveling Europe from city to city but realized that I missed the natural side of things.
I am Wilderness First Responder and First Aid Certified. I also love to work with my hands and have a strong willingness to learn.

I grew up with 2 brothers and 4 sisters that are all younger. I love being involved with my family and do miss having that aspect of my life. One of my brothers just happens to be my twin! We grew up playing sports and always being outside. Growing up in the southern part of the US, the weather was never an excuse to not be outside! Coming to Iceland I am hoping to push myself outside of my comfort zone and really experience life from the locals point of view.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, couch surfing is way that I get to experience local life and culture in the best way possible, by staying with a local! Being a traveller I also hope to one day be able to help host other travelers as well!

Interests

I love being outdoors. Exploring wilderness that is unfamiliar to me excites me. I also enjoy slack lining, rock climbing, and going to the lake.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music! Dubstep, country, Rap, folk, etc. one of my favorite movies of all time is School of Rock for whatever reason. I also love action movies sort of like the "one man army" movies. I don't read often but every now and then I'll go through a book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Take a 3 day rafting trip through the Grand Canyon. The stars were amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to crochet a hat....maybe, I can talk about cars, and would love to sit and watch YouTube videos to learn a new skill! I'm a very easy going person and open to many things.
