About Me

CURRENT MISSION

PhD - consciousness evolution through education.

ABOUT ME

I am a human being.
I work every day to be a little more free.
I have hurt deeply and I have loved with all of my heart.
Those two seem to coincide, but I wouldn't give either up. It is all a part of the unfolding of life.
I lose myself in beauty and seem to be always working on finding my self again.
I love otters, dragonflies, laughing babies and watching the full moon over the ocean... like, a lot.

... so... who are you?

PHILOSOPHY

The greatest possible act of revolution is to fall passionately in love with each inexpressibly beautiful moment. In order to undermine and overcome the modern phase of mediocrity, apathy and fear based suffering we must re-appropriate these outdated modes through a continual renewal of self/society. Without the development of deep empathy, love, equality and understanding on the personal, inter-personal and community levels, the same system of domination and oppression which we wish to relinquish will simply be reinstated anew by our selves and our peers.

The revolution begins at home, and within each heart, and then is spreads, peer to peer, through the radical acts of honesty, love and compassion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing, and hosting, perpetually wandering and passing it on whenever I land and have the space to share.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Spent the fall in '08 couch surfing down the coast with my partner at the time through her account. Had many beautiful experiences all throughout northern California and the Bay Area. Past spring break couchsurfed Denver and Boulder on my own and tapped into the well spring of goodness there as well. Hosted a bit of Portland before hopping across the State to NYC to garner to manic energy of America. Then spent the summer CSing Europe (awesome.) Then spent another summer CSing Europe (awesome again!)

Music, Movies, and Books

Yes.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Built earth plaster, straw bale houses at an off-grid sustainable community in Winnipeg, Canada for a summer. Participated in a sacred Native American Sundance ceremony in Pipestone, Minnesota. Studied under several spiritual masters.

Teach, Learn, Share

I study the human heart. The innate individual and interpersonal capacity for love, and equally pain and fear. We are so inhibited in English with a single word for this infinite phenomena of inter-connectivity. The Sufi Mystics, in talking about the path towards the Divine often refer to Love, an intimate affair with life as a guiding post towards divinity... This is somewhat how I feel on the subject.

Ceramicist/artist/performer/art model as well, although it's not come in quite as handy on the road... At least not yet! Studied some Art Theory as well.

If you have something to say that comes from that space between your belly button and your scalp, chances are I'd like to hear it.
