About Me

Currently, I am a Master student in Pisa. Originally, I am from Turkey but I have been visiting places (mostly in Europe) for a while now. They were mostly a week trips but as you might agree it is better if you stay somewhere more than that, right? Italy will be the foreign country that I mostly lived in because I have been here for a year now and will be at least one more if I graduate on time (cross your fingers for me guys!). Previously, I lived a little in Berlin and about a year in Vilnius, Lithuania.

For more info, you can swipe right.. oh no this is not that app, right? Good, if you know it then you can stop using it as it is!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Even when I travel to a country/city for a short time, I would like to see daily life in that city besides the main attractions. Sometimes I plan my visit accordingly, and sometimes not. In my opinion, if you visit a place and the only thing left in your memory after is the cathedral at the center, then you are doing something wrong, buddy! You have to collect other memories than just sightseeing good or bad (not preferably of course) and construct your own thoughts about the place you visit. Then traveling will become true traveling.

If you feel that, you also understand that doing this might be harder than getting help from a local. So, here I am, searching that local and offer mine in my city.

Bonus: Less money to accommodation, more money for your local beer- for me and also for you. My treat! *electronic winking*

Interests

Well, who wouldn't like eating and drinking right? But, other than that I enjoy watching tv-series/movies my free time, so if I haven't seen your favorite shows/movies then I would have another thing to add my list! I played basketball in primary and high school very very very semi-professionally, but for the moment I am playing it for fun here and then.

Let's get to our common interest, shall we? Traveling! I am more of a person that likes city-tourism. I prefer to visit another city than going to the beach for example. And when I go somewhere, I try to catch the spirit of the city- during the day and also night. So what is a great way to get that spirit? I almost hear you saying staying at some stranger's couch and become friends after!

Teach, Learn, Share

To be honest, I suck at playing any kind of musical instruments, but maybe you'll like my playlists. Other than that, we probably will exchange (at least) some cultural elements with you my potential host/surfer :) I will love to talk about your country, culture, language, (definitely a bit) politics- just to have another insight opinion or teach you mine or the ones I know.

P.S.: I am trying to learn how to say "cheers" and also some other really random words in most languages possible. So if you are from Europe I probably how yours! Feel free to quiz me!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think I have good surface knowledge about a variety of stuff. So prepare yourself for a piece of knowledge that you most likely will never need it and probably forget in 24 hours! Also, I know a bunch of weird videos on Youtube so, it might become handy.

And, do you remember the miniature version of the Leaning Tower that you wanted to buy when you visited Pisa but the other stuff got to the way and you forgot? No problem homie, I got you!
