About Me

Important - ** I'm currently traveling **

Hi! I am a middle child from a big family (typical of us Bruneians to have big families!)

I love poems about potential. There's one that has this line - 'Dance like no one is watching'. Words to live by! In a washroom of a diner in Mendocino, California, I stumbled upon a framed picture with a saying from Zimbabwe, 'If you can walk, you can dance. If you talk, you can sing'. Ain't that awesome?

Like to read? I post writings here: https://vocal.media/wander/one-ramadan-in-paris

I'm terrible at going on to the CS website so keep the faith if I don't reply immediately! I travel a lot, and thus not always connected with the web. When I'm free, we can probably meet up for coffee. If you've come this far, please know that I'm not likely to check CS. You can find me on IG instead - @huwaidaishaaq (if you do reach out on that platform, pls say you're a CSer).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travel is a big part of my life so I do that lots lots. While I'm on home turf, I'm happy to meet up (and sometimes host).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I was in a bus, riding across Norway and I must have been sleeping... I remember opening my eyes, looking out the window and being awestruck by the most amazing scene I had ever witnessed. It was still, vast and very red. The terrain was rugged, open and there were many pot holes scattered at random. The pot holes were filled with water and you can see the reflection of the world above. The sun was setting so the sky was a magnificent kaliedescope of rust, orange, gold and red. I didn't know where the earth ended and the sky started.I thought, 'If I died now, I'd by dying in heaven'.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy learning. About life, people, the beyond and the passions that move us.

20+ years track record in journaling would mean I could share a thing or two about that. I love writing and my work as a project management professional. If you'd like to exchange views on creating positive changes through meaningful projects, I'm all ears.
